The Brief for AIDC 2007 was as follows:

SBSi and the AFC are calling for concept stage short series proposals (eg 3 x 52 minute episodes or 6 x 25 minute episodes).

They're seeking proposals for gutsy, innovative and appealing series that creatively reflect the SBS charter and put younger faces on screen. The series should appeal to our 25-50 year old target audience, with a preference to attracting female viewers.

The tone of the work may vary from entertaining programs that make you laugh to more confronting, analytical or essayistic work. The series shall be set in Australia or central characters will be Australian.

SBSi encourages applicants to consider how the proposed series would fit into the current SBS Television schedule and how it could be financed. Applicants are also encouraged to put forward ideas that have organic potential to attract and build online communities.

Moderator: Susan MacKinnon
