The AIDC offers extensive marketplace opportunities for all delegates.

For producers seeking finance for projects, there are a number of pitching opportunities over the four days, including DOCUmart, MeetMarket and Pitch and Punt competitions.

DOCUmart

DOCUmart is the AIDC's flagship market for co-financing and co-producing of documentary projects modelled after The FORUM for International Co-Financing of Documentaries in Amsterdam.

Over the course of a day a number of shortlisted documentary projects, with the potential of capturing an international broadcast audience, are pitched to the DOCUmart panel of leading International and Australian commissioning editors, distributors, sales agents, program buyers and other investors.

All AIDC delegates are welcome to attend the pitch sessions as an observer. Observing the DOCUmart pitches gives independent producers an opportunity to gather market intelligence via the unique access to the DOCUmart Panel.

Producers are invited to submit their proposals online. Click here for Guidelines and How To Apply

MeetMarket

MeetMarket will provide an opportunity for creative and original ideas to be fast-tracked in a supportive, structured setting. Selected documentary ideas will be presented in two-minute pitch teasers made available online to local and international buyers. After viewing the teasers, buyers will meet with selected project teams in a 'market' environment during the AIDC.

MeetMarket is an initiative of AFC and AIDC. Click here for Guidelines and How To Apply

Pitch and Punt

The Pitch and Punt sessions have developed over the years to become a favourite at the AIDC. Producers can win a development purse to get an international co-production project off the ground.

Pitch and Punt participating broadcasters agree in advance on a theme of documentary or series they are seeking and each commit a development cash prize. A call for applications is made, projects are short listed by the participating commissioning editors and then four or five producers are invited to pitch their project to the commissioning editors from the participating networks in a session at the AIDC.One project is selected as the winner to be put into development.
