An Australian first! Document Your World is a pitching competition for teenagers, aged 12-17 presented by tallstoreez productionz and the AIDC during the 2007 conference.
Teenagers are stakeholders in a diverse media landscape. Web based platforms allowing online content sharing, like YouTube, have turned them into content producers and broadcasters. We want to recognize this and give them the opportunity to participate in AIDC.
Can they win over the commissioning editors and convince them to finance a short documentary? No favours done, all industry rules apply! But we will give them a head start by finding them some excellent mentors.
If the projects raise broadcast interest, the filmmakers will enrol in tallstoreez productionz' highly successful youth media training project, Directing the Hero Within. Mentored by documentary hot shots and backed by a professional production team they will make their own films.
This initiative is developed with the support of South Australian Government through Arts SA Healthy Initiatives, Australian Children's Television Foundation, Country Arts SA, Australian International Documentary Conference 2007, Australian Festival for Young People aka Come Out 2007 and tallstoreez productionz.
